Korean Ground Beef Bowls

Korean beef bowls

This is my favorite recipe for when the family wants Asian food but money is too tight for takeout!

It is super simple, quick, cheap, and makes great leftovers too!

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup soy sauce or tamari

1 tbsp minced garlic

1 tsp pureed ginger (the refrigerated kind in the tube is awesome!)

Sriracha (to your heart’s desire)

Green onion

Sesame seeds for topping (optional)

Cooked rice or quinoa, whichever you prefer

First, brown the ground beef! After it is cooked through, add in the brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sriracha, and cook it all together a little longer. The sauce tastes better when you let it caramelize a bit!

When it’s done, simply scoop it on top of your cooked rice or quinoa, then top with green onion and sesame seeds! Cody loves extra sauce, so I topped his with some extra Japanese Barbecue Sauce, and with Sriracha Mayo!
